Bible Reading Plan 2021

Bible Reading Plan 2021

We are so excited to embark on this year-long Bible reading plan together!

If you follow this plan, you will end the year 2021 having read the entire New Testament. Added in are some readings from both Psalms and Proverbs. The book of Psalms is broken down into five sections (1-41, 42-72, 73-89, 90-106, and 107-150). This year, we will read through the first three sections together, saving sections four and five for next year. Likewise, we will be reading the “Prologue” to Proverbs (1-9), with a goal to read through the rest of the book in 2022.

As we use this plan together as a church body, you may consider using it to structure family devotions. You might begin to meet with another individual or a small group weekly, biweekly, or monthly to discuss and pray through what you’re reading. What if you even invited extended family members or friends outside of EBC to read through the plan too?! God can and will do amazing things as His people unify around His holy word!

This particular plan is designed to be followed 7 days a week for the entire year. There’s a reason for that. Jesus said, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God” (Matt. 4:4). To grow in your faith, you need to read God’s word daily, just like you eat physical food daily. When followers of Christ neglect His word, even for a day, they can begin to grow weak and more vulnerable to the attacks of the enemy.

Be encouraged that a chapter per day is all it takes to read the entire New Testament this year (with some of Psalms and Proverbs as a bonus!). You can do this!
